LAUNCHED IN CONJUNCTION WITH I.W.D. 2017 #BeBoldForChange
International Women’s Day is a day dedicated to empowering women and celebrating the achievements of women around the world. This year’s campaign theme is #BeBoldFor Change.
We have been inspired by this year’s theme to launch a blog written by different students from our girls’ boarding school. With girls from more than twenty countries around the world attending Surval, our blog offers us the opportunity to represent girls from all over the globe, and to speak out for change for the better, however big or small, in the countries that we live in.
As young women, this is an important day for us. Change is essential. We are not yet living in a world in which men and women are seen or treated as equal; in which boys and girls are granted the same opportunities.
But by uniting together we can help to achieve the change of perspective we need in society.
The theme #BeBoldFor Change has inspired this blog; and so, to begin, and as part of the celebrations for IWD, we are introducing our "Women's Wednesday": each Wednesday following Wednesday 8th March 2017 - International Women's Day - we will be featuring our "Inspirational Women of the Week": the women who have shown us that even if we fail once, we can succeed if we keep on trying; the women who have demonstrated that each of us has the ability to make change; the women who through their own bold actions have made our world a better place.
